TURTLE-CANDY-WITH-PECANS & CARAMEL

Homemade Grandma's Turtle Candy ~ This classic homemade chocolate fudge recipe came straight out of Grandma's Recipe Box, it's the recipe she made in the '60s, '70s, and '80s and it's still the best classic holiday candy.

°96-walnut-halves
°8 oz dark chocolate, I use bag Nestlé Dark Chocolate Chip
°Kraft Caramels eleven ounce bag, unwrapped (soft type)
°tablespoon butter
°Two tablespoons of evaporated milk

Line 2 baking sheet with  silicone mat
Heat oven 350 degrees F
Place the nuts on an uncovered baking sheet and roast for 10 minutes. Removing it and permit it cool down.
Heat half of chocolate in microwave-safe bowl on high power about 1 min. removing & delete. Putting it in microwave about 15-30 sec again & stirring it again to it melts also becomes smooth.
Place small amounts of chocolate on a prepared baking sheet and lift to 1/4 of the size. Decorate with four pecan halves to form turtle's legs. (look at the pictures)
You can move on to the next step right away, or you can place the tray in the freezer until it hardens for 5 minutes.
Melting caramel, butter & milk in microwave. Begin at 1 min, stir &, if obligatory, heat for 15 sec until smooth. I like to permit caramel cool down bit so that it thick before continue.
Adding 1 tsp (about 1/2 teaspoon) of caramel to surface of every turtle.
Again, putting tray in freezer for 5 min .
Melt the remaining chocolate and add a small amount to each turtle and spread it over the caramel. I like to give chocolate little swirl when lifting spoon. Putting tray in freezer for 5 min .
Turtle can be store  or in refrigerator. Freezes well for longer storage (place in a sturdy zip-top freezer bag)..

Enjoy !
