This was something we would get at the A&P when we were younger. Wow, I couldn't be happier to find this recipe; now I can whip up a batch right in my own kitchen! Absolutely mouthwatering!

one-fourth cup of cocoa powder, unsweetened
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
-- One teaspoon of salt
- One teaspoon of cinnamon, ground
- Minced cloves, measuring 1/2 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon of allspice, ground
Half a cup of applesauce
- Half a cup of olive oil
- Two big eggs
raisins, one cup
With regard to the Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 8 ounces of softened cream cheese - 1/2 cup of melted butter
- One teaspoon of pure vanilla essence
- Four cups of powdered sugar
Instructions:
A preheated oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) is the first step. Prepare a 9-by-13-inch baking pan by greasing and flouring it.
2. Measure out and combine the following ingredients in a large bowl: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and allspice.
Third, combine the dry ingredients with the applesauce, oil from vegetables, and eggs. Combine all of the ingredients by beating them together with a hand mixer or electric mixer.
4. Gently incorporate the raisins into the batter, making sure they are spread equally.
5. In a preheated baking pan, pour the mixture and use a spatula to smooth the surface.
Place the cake in the oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Seven, whip up the cream cheese icing as the cake cools. Combine the softened butter and cream cheese in a medium bowl and mix until combined. The frosting will be smooth and easy to spread after adding the vanilla extract and confectioners' sugar, which should be mixed in gradually.
8. After the cake has cooled entirely, halves may be cut and the cream cheese frosting can be evenly distributed over the top. Put the second half on top of it and drizzle some extra icing.
