Slow Cooker BBQ Ribs
*Ingredients
ribs
°30 ml (2 tbsp.) brown sugar
°30 ml (2 tbsp.) smoked paprika
°2 sections of pork back ribs, about 750 g (1 1½ lb) each
+Homemade barbecue sauce
°1 can 28 oz (796 ml) crushed tomatoes
°125 ml (½ cup) cider vinegar
°60 ml (¼ cup) fancy molasses
°60 ml (¼ cup) brown sugar
°30 ml (2 tbsp.) chili seasoning (or Mexican seasoning)
°2.5 ml (½ tsp) liquid smoke*
°1 pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
°Pepper and salt
*Preperation
In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and smoked paprika.
Sprinkle over ribs and rub to coat well.
Place the meat in the slow cooker so that it runs along the side of the casserole.
In a large bowl, combine all the barbecue sauce ingredients.
Pepper generously and add a pinch of salt.
Pour half of the sauce into the center of the slow cooker and freeze the rest for future use.
With a spoon, coat with rib sauce.
Close the lid and activate the slow cooker.
Cook 6 to 8 hours at low intensity. Cooking time may vary from one slow cooker to another.
The ribs should be tender, but don't fall off the bone too easily.
Serve with fries and coleslaw.
