Apple Bread


Soft and crunchy at the same time, this flavorful apple bread is the perfect coffee companion for snack or lunch.

* Ingredients :

°2 Gala apples, peeled and diced
°1.25 ml (1/4 tsp) cinnamon
°80 ml (1/3 c) sugar
°375 ml (1 1/2 c) flour
°60 ml (1/4 cup) oatmeal or all-purpose flour
°5 ml (1 tsp.) Baking-powder
°5 ml baking soda
°1.25 ml (1/4 teaspoon) salt
°1/4 cup (60 ml) softened butter
°2 eggs
°1/2 cup (125 ml) brown sugar
°5 ml (1 teaspoon) of vanilla extract
°1/2 cup (125 ml) 2% milk
For the crumble:
°60 ml (1/4 c) quickly-cook oatmeal
°45 ml (3 tbsp) Melted butter
°30 ml (2 tbsp.) Brown sugar
°1.25 ml (1/4 teaspoon) cinnamon

* Steps :

Preheat oven 180 ° C (350 ° F).
In a bowl, combine the apples with the cinnamon and maple sugar.
In another bowl, combine the two kinds of flour with the baking powder, baking soda and salt.
In a third bowl, whisk the butter with the eggs, brown sugar and vanilla using an electric mixer until a creamy mixture is obtained.
Gradually incorporate the flour mixture into the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, and stir until combined.
Add the apple mixture and stir.
Line an 8 '' x 4 '' (20 cm x 10 cm) loaf pan with parchment paper, then pour in the dough. Level the surface.
In a bowl, combine the crumble ingredients. Spread the crumble over the dough.
Baking about 1 hour to 1 hour 10 min .
Remove from the oven and let cool on a rack. This bread can be kept cool or at room temperature.
